Describing Her

Chin Ko Shih was born April 13, 1918 in Kobe, Japan. She learned many languages throughout her childhood. She was very talented in painting, Chinese calligraphy, cooking, and also crafts. In the 1940s, she married and moved to Taiwan. There, they raised their kids. In 1978 she moved to America to be closer to her grown children. She lived in New York and made friends in the community. She enjoyed visits with her children and grandchildren. She also studied hard learning English to become an American citizen. Words that describe Chin: elegant, classy, witty, smart, loving Mrs. Shih is survived by her children: Emily, Dolly, John, Kenny, and Liang as well as her daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. We will all remember her fondly and with much love.
